In South Korea, obstruction of official duties is considered a serious crime. The victim, a public official, never agrees to a settlement with the perpetrator, leading to severe consequences, including at least a suspended sentence.
Simon strongly argued that the client made a mistake while intoxicated and in the process of assisting a friend, that the client was a first-time offender, and that they were sincerely remorseful. As a result, the client was able to receive a fine instead of more severe punishment.
