This case involved a client who was under investigation for allegedly embezzling a large sum of money while running a business by deceiving a Korean business partner.
Simon handled the criminal defense from the first trial, arguing that there was no evidence of the alleged embezzled funds being withdrawn and that all evidence presented by the prosecution was purely subjective.
Despite these arguments, the first trial resulted in a guilty verdict with a suspended sentence.
Simon did not give up and appealed the decision, vigorously arguing that the prosecution’s claims were baseless and submitted additional evidence favorable to the defendant. Ultimately, the appellate court delivered a not-guilty verdict.
The client, an expert in producing sausages in the Halal manner, continues to operate his business in Korea.
