International divorce often involves much more than ending a marriage. Financial obligations, future tax issues, and the risk of additional claims can continue long after the divorce unless they are properly addressed.
We represented a Canadian client living in the United States and negotiated a court-mediated settlement that resolved every major issue in a single agreement. In addition to finalizing the divorce, the settlement secured a payment of USD 30,000, confirmed that each party would retain their own assets and pension rights, waived all future financial claims, and even addressed how the parties would cooperate on their U.S. tax filings. By anticipating issues beyond the divorce itself, we helped our client achieve a practical resolution with long-term certainty.
