Obstruction of Official Duties: A Serious Crime in South Korea

In this case, our client faced investigation and trial on charges of obstructing official duties after hurling insults at police officers who arrived at the scene following a report.

In South Korea, obstruction of official duties is considered a serious crime. The victim, a public official, never agrees to a settlement with the perpetrator, leading to severe consequences, including at least a suspended sentence.

Simon strongly argued that the client made a mistake while intoxicated and in the process of assisting a friend, that the client was a first-time offender, and that they were sincerely remorseful. As a result, the client was able to receive a fine instead of more severe punishment.
